Cloud 9 Flight Simulations released today an "advanced" version of their Aermacchi MB339 model for Flight Simulator. The aircraft, used by the Italian Air Force in real life, is now enhanced with failures and emergencies simulation. You can select the aircraft version from the FS menu and experience the flight with an absolutely realistic model without random failures or a more challenging version where failures and emergencies can occur. The cloud9 Aermacchi MB339 features a superb 2D cockpit and virtual cockpit, top quality graphic parts, highly detailed 3D model, animated internal and external parts with jettisonable stores and ejection seat, realistic flight dynamics tested by Frecce Tricolori pilots, soundset recorded directly from the aircraft and a few other goodies. The new package, containing both "normal" and "advanced" versions, is available for download at the cloud9 website.

JDT LLC reports that the popular Radar Contact air traffic control add-on is now receiving an update. This new version 4.01 features a new method of "weaving" the wavs together: all audio files for a specific speech are condensated into a single file and this new file is finally played. Some informal calls were removed and a new (more complete) voices screen is included. Other minor fixes and improvements are present in the update. You can download Radar Contact V4.01 on the developer's official website.
Developed for serious simmers who are looking for more realism, Radar Contact v4 features virtual controllers who give taxi instructions, takeoff clearances, ascent and descent clearances, vectors to the active runway, clearances to land and traffic calls for any aircraft in their flight path. The issues with not-so-inteligent AI traffic are not a problem when using Radar Contact, as the controllers will move conflicting traffic before they become a threat. In this new version of Radar Contact, some exciting new features are present: interaction with traffic on the ground and in the air, accurate ATC procedures all over the world (not only USA), arrival airport weather taken into considaration, realistically divided centers, realistic ground operations and more efficient arrival vectors, along with many others goodies. |

A third "Service Update" for the Active Sky v6 weather engine was released today. In this new patch, there are some minor fixes and improvements: the memory leak problem with extended long-term (3+ hours) use of ASG when using auto-submits and the new default “Keep ASG open during auto-submits” option; and the invalid handling of “xxxxNDV” visibility tags were fixed. Also, performance was improved throughout all ASv6/ASG processes. ActiveSky is a comprehensive weather engine and sky graphics upgrade for MSFS 2004 that allows you to load real-time weather data into the simulator and fly with all the effects present in real life - wake turbulence, vertical air currents, fog, icing...
The ActiveSky weather engine uses advanced intelligence and logic routines to obtain weather data and synthesize it into a beautiful and realistic depiction within the flight simulator. You may choose to fly using real-time, archived or even custom made weather data - nearly every weather condition can be configured and simulated! The Active Sky v6 Service Update 3 is available for download. |
