Red Bull Copilot: an interesing suggestion!
Tuesday, 21 February 2006

If you are also an aerobatics enthusiast, you'll love RedBullCopilot.com. This very interesting site allows you to fly with the national champion Kirby Chambliss in the Red Bull Air Race. The Red Bull Air Race is a low-altitude obstacle course in which the fastest pilot to nail the course's 13 maneuvers wins. What is really interesting on this site is that you can actually chase Kirby's aircraft from 9 angles (cockpit, wing, belly, etc.) and see its exact speed, altitude, rate of turn and G-forces for each stage of flight. It's amazing to see what these guys can do with an aircraft!

Five more FlightSim X screenshots!
Sunday, 19 February 2006

Five more Flight Simulator X screenshots were published today at FS Insider, the Microsoft Flight Simulator official blog! They clearly show how powerful the new "camera engine" is, allowing you to see the aircraft in nearly every angle. Also, the helicopter screenshot shows a low-altitude view of the scenery - it looks much more detailed than the previous versions, and the autogen matches the ground texture perfectly! Microsoft Flight Simulator X release is expected to Q4 2006.

The aircraft, used by the Italian Air Force in real life, is now enhanced with failures and emergencies simulation. The new package, containing both "normal" and "advanced" versions, is available for download at the cloud9 website.
