In what promises to be the most extensive photorealistic scenery series yet released for Flight Simulator, the U.S. Parks Series will feature a broad range of North American National Parks, State Parks and the larger National Monuments. The first volume of the series is in development and will be the Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone has inspired visitors from around the globe for over 130 years. It was the world's first designated national park, and within its 2.2 million acres are over 10,000 thermal features, plus a spectacular selection of the continent's wildlife and flora. This scenery contains as much detail as technically possible including high-resolution terrain that will allow you to discover almost every feature of the park. Ponder the mysterious Yellowstone Lake, its apparent serenity hiding a dark secret! Explore the 'Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone' and look deep into the earth's interior. Marvel at the beautiful Absaroka and Gallatin mountain ranges. Perhaps you can even spot some wildlife from your aerial vantage point! All 8,000 kilometres of the park, and more, are yours to explore. More information: GeoRender - US Parks

The AlphaSim Phantom trilogy comes to a close in style - a dual package containing both British F-4's as well as the reconnaissance 'RF' versions! The highly successful AlphaSim Phantoms have been improved upon for this package, frame rates were given special attention and the textures surpass even the high quality of the other 2 packages. All the usual animations are present, with the addition of the refuel probe and a special extendable nose wheel oleo on the Royal Navy variant. An awesome sound set is included in the package. A repainter's kit will be made available at a later date. |

We have strong evidence that Microsoft will release two versions of the upcoming Flight Simulator X, as they did with Flight Simulator 2002. On the Canadian Aviation Expo 2006, they have put up a big poster featuring the "Deluxe Edition" box art, suggesting that a "Standard Edition" will also be released. It's not very clear what the difference between the two editions are... we are still waiting for an official announcement for Microsoft. Amazon.co.uk is now taking pre-orders for both FSX Standard and Deluxe Editions. They sell for £44.99 and the release date is set to 27 October, 2006. The prices and release date are still unconfirmed and may change in the following months. Keep tuned for more news!! |

Project Open Sky has some great news for us! They have recently released the Boeing 737-600 model, which is the third aircraft in their 737NG series. This new model already counts with 7 liveries, and guess what... everything is free! All POSky models and liveries are available free of charge on their website. The 737-800 is to be released soon -- keep tuned! Another important release by Project Open Sky was an official preview of the B767 Virtual Cockpit! This much expected project will be the first virtual cockpit released by the company, and quite possibly one of the best freeware cockpits ever! No release date has been set. |
