Just Flight VLJ Business Jet Review by Rob Scott

Fan of executive aviation?! Check out the new JustFlight's VLJ Business Jet review, written by Rob Scott. For aviation enthusiasts, the prospect of flying from one major international airport to another in a 747, followed by a short hop to a smaller airport in a CRJ, might be a trip to look forward to. If however, you look at the other side of the coin and you are the CEO of a major organisation, who needs to get from one small city to another to negotiate a new business deal, the prospect of the above-mentioned flights might not be so appealing. This is where biz-jets come into play. Their ability to take off and land at smaller remote airstrips, and then cruise only slightly slower than the heavies, makes them an ideal alternative for the businessman in a hurry.
Aerosoft Budapest 2007 Review by Rob Scott

Rob Scott has just published his Aerosoft Budapest 2007 review here on FS Station. This new FS2004/FSX scenery by Aerosoft features Budapest's main airport, Ferihegy International Airport and the capital with photorealistic ground textures and extensive autogen. If you intend to get this scenery, make sure you take a look at what Rob has to say about it first -- the 20+ screenshots also add a lot to the review. Budapest is the capital city of Hungary with a population of around 2 million people. Budapest has a long history, with the first recordings taken way back in AD89 with the roman town of Aquincum. Ferihegy International Airport is the only airport serving the city of Budapest, and handled over 8 million passengers last year. The airport is located about 10 miles outside the city of Budapest, and is well served by city’s expressways. The airport is large enough to handle the likes of 747’s, and possibly the A380 when she enters service.
Horizon Simulation Announces the Release of VFR Photographic Scenery Generation X – The Next Generation of Real World Sceneries for Microsoft Flight Simulator X.Designed specifically for use with Microsoft FSX, VFR Generation X provides flight simmers with the opportunity to fly over highly realistic and recognisable scenery of England Wales. Unsurpassed detail and clarity allows you to fly lower and faster than ever before, whilst significant performance enhancements mean that the scenery stays sharp and in focus throughout your simulated flight.Using real aerial photography for scenery means that the views you see from your virtual cockpit are transformed into the real thing - you literally see exactly what the pilots of the survey aircraft saw when they acquired the aerial photography. VFR Generation X gives you 16 x more detail in both the terrain and photographic scenery than the original version designed for FS2002/FS2004, meaning that you can fly as low as 500-600 ft and still see pin-sharp photographic scenery – you can even make out white lines painted on the roads! Available as a series of 3 volumes covering England Wales, VFR Generation X gives you unsurpassed...

Aerosoft releases Budapest 2007

Aerosoft is happy to announce the release of Budapest 2007. This high-end scenery of Ferihegy International Airport, created by Andras Kozma (well known for several award winning sceneries) is the latest in their Mega Airport series. Budapest is the capital of Hungary and one of the oldest cities in Central Europe. It’s history is rich and varied, with many highlights and several very sad periods. With Hungary being the odd one out in the Soviet Block (it had more freedom then the other Eastern European states) it was able to recover from the devastation of the last part of World War II with much more style and feeling for its history then most other cities in Eastern Europe. As the thousands of tourists can testify to, it is a city that certainly deserves a visit. The Budapest main airport, Ferihegy International Airport is the most important airport in Hungary and has handled over 8 million passengers last year. Large enough to handle B747 (and most likely the A380) it has connections to most European airports and has recently seen a big increase in low costs airline flights. Malév Hungarian Airlines is the main Hungarian airline and it...

Cloud9 strikes with two FSX products!

Cloud9 has been developing two new products, fully compatible with FSX: Orlando Intl. (KMCO) scenery and XClass Europe. The cloud9 Xclass Europe improves in a considerable way the terrain of all of Europe, increasing the precision of how the terrains are visualised. The standard large, and even, areas of Flight Simulator X scenery are modified and are represented in greater detail. Furthermore, special terrain zones have also been added (e.g. industrial areas or saline areas along the coast lines) which normally aren't represented in the standard FSX scenery. With cloud9 Xclass improved designs have been applied accurately on more than 150.000 urban areas of Europe including towns with only a squared kilometre area. This allows to carryout much more accurate and realistic VFR flights. The Orlando International Airport scenery for FS2004/FSX is currently in development by cloud9. It is modelled based on real ground and in-flight pictures, and features photographic textures; high-detail runways, taxiways and aprons; special effects and awesome night textures. The developer claims there's little FPS impact and that the scenery blends well with its surroundings. Check out a preview screenshot and read more about this scenery at cloud9's website. More information: Cloud 9 Website (http://www.fscloud9.com/php/home.php?lang=EN)

Flight Simulator X - Performance Tweaks

Flight Simulator X has not even been officially released in the USA, and we already have a handful of people complaining about its performance. It's become pretty much clear that you need recent hardware to run FSX decently, but even people with high-end systems are having trouble finding optimal settings for it. The major performance hit comes with the new autogen trees and buildings, which can completely ruin your flight experience over big cities if not configured properly. This guide's objective is to provide some tweaks for you to optimize the simulator performance.Check it out: Flight Simulator X - Performance Tweaks (articles/flight-simulator-x-performance-tweaks.html)
